4/14 Sottomarina south + a couple challanges

beautiful day of sailing
motored out through the channel
south along the coast, changed jib to larger, cruising at 4 knots or so

challenge one
just before entering channel on return, turnbuckle joint at buttom of inner shroud wire on starboard side, connected to structural deck strap popped lose with a bang
mitigate by pointing to wind with same side (pressure off shrouds on that side) and tied down with a short rope, then pulled down sails and motored back to darsena

challenge two
all smooth, backing into slip, moved throttle to neutral and engine went back to forward instead
already in the marina, so tight space, boat now going in forward, at idle speed
could not get back into neutral or reverse, so decided to leave engine running (to keep underway) and headed back to channel to go back and forth and investigate below
andrew took tiller, with angie in command above deck, roland below to troubleshoot
throttle cabling at throttle looks good (in starboard cockpit locker)
starboard access to engine cabinet below showed issue was the exterior sleeve of shifter cable assembly was not secured to a mount, two bolts loose, one missing
updated crew above deck, secured with vice grips on one side and hand tightened bolt on the other
throttle shifted into neutral and back to forward
proceeded to back to marina, and reversed as usual into slip

proper fixes to both issues to be organized tomorrow.
